The latest ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings reveal significant shifts for Pakistan’s cricketers. New ODI captain Shaheen Afridi and former skipper Babar Azam have both slipped down the tables, while several teammates have made notable advances.
In the batting rankings, Babar Azam has dropped one place to 5th globally. He currently holds 728 rating points.
The news was more positive for other Pakistani batsmen:
- Mohammad Rizwan gained one spot to rise to 23rd.
- Fakhar Zaman also moved up one place to 26th.
- Salman Ali Agha made the biggest jump, surging nine places to 30th. This follows his pivotal performance in the series opener against South Africa.
Imam-ul-Haq dropped one spot to 42nd place, while Saim Ayub maintained his position at 53rd. India’s Rohit Sharma continues to hold the title of the world’s top-ranked ODI batter. A highlight of the rankings is the return of Naseem Shah, who climbed ten positions to 33rd after his comeback from injury. Additionally, spinner Abrar Ahmed has also made progress, moving up to 37th place.
