Due to a dip in global oil prices, Pakistan’s petrol prices could soon tumble by Rs13 to Rs15 per litre.

Sources revealed on March 9, 2025, that the Pakistan Petrol Price cut, potentially slashing diesel by up to Rs11 per litre, promises relief for the next 15 days if the government greenlights it.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) is preparing a proposal for the prime minister, and the Finance Ministry is ready to notify once it is approved. Insiders report that the anticipated price reductions of Rs 13-15 for petrol and Rs 11 for diesel reflect trends in the international market.

“It’s a strong possibility,” a source mentioned, indicating a significant rollback. OGRA’s summary will detail these adjustments, paving the way for formal approval. If approved, the drop in petrol prices in Pakistan could provide quick financial relief, will it last?
