Pakistan leaps in digitizing the Hajj process by developing a comprehensive application in a record timeframe.
Caretaker Minister of Information Technology Umar Saif and Minister of Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed jointly launched the Pak Hajj application, marking an essential milestone in streamlining and enhancing the Hajj pilgrimage experience.
During the launch event, NITB Chief Executive Officer Babar Majeed delved into the app’s functionality and features. He expressed optimism about its impact on improving efficiency and transparency in Hajj operations.
The Pak Hajj application encompasses a range of functionalities, including pilgrim registration, payment processing for Hajj rituals, and comprehensive information covering all aspects from departure to return.
The app also provides vital details such as group information, training schedules, and accommodation in Saudi Arabia. Its financial features include payment services and live maps, making the pilgrimage more convenient for users.
Commendations and Future Impact
Umar Saif highlighted the rapid digitization process under the Special Investment Facilitation Council’s guidance, praising the achievement of the app’s launch. Meanwhile, Aneeq Ahmed praised the Ministry of IT and NITB for their efforts in realizing this project.
Umar Saif emphasized that the application would significantly upgrade the Hajj operation system, allowing officials to promptly address pilgrims’ complaints and collect real-time feedback, thus empowering a more efficient and responsive Hajj experience.
