Variety reported the return of Pakistan Idol more than a decade after its initial run from 2013 to 2014 on Geo Entertainment. The Pakistan Idol reboot is a collaboration between MHL Global and Fremantle, the distributor of the Idol franchise rights.
The Pakistan Idol reboot 2025 panel of judges will include Fawad Khan, Zeb Bangash, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, and Bilal Maqsood. The original series, which was judged by Ali Azmat, Bushra Ansari, and Hadiqa Kiani, concluded in April 2014 with Zamad Baig winning after receiving a million votes.
MHL Director Zoya Merchant stated, “Pakistan has incredible musical talent, and this platform will not only showcase it nationwide but also elevate it to a global stage.” To maximise accessibility, the show will air simultaneously on five networks, a first for the Idol franchise, targeting Pakistan’s diverse linguistic and regional audiences.

The impressive panel of judges and the multi-network broadcasting strategy demonstrate a strong effort to engage a wide audience while supporting emerging artists.
