The nation is celebrating Pakistan Day on Sunday, March 23, with a renewed commitment to transforming the country into an Islamic welfare state as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah envisioned.
Pakistan Day marks the anniversary of the Lahore Resolution, passed on March 23, 1940, which laid the foundation for a separate homeland for the Muslims of the Subcontinent.
Traditional Celebrations and Gun Salutes
The celebrations commenced with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in the provincial capitals. Following the Fajr prayers, special prayers were offered for the nation’s progress, prosperity, and unity.
