Islamabad: The Pakistan Army on Wednesday carried out precision air and ground strikes on key Afghan Taliban strongholds in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, killing dozens of militants.
Security sources report that recent targeted attacks have destroyed the Taliban’s Battalion No. 4 and Border Brigade No. 6, resulting in the elimination of both Afghan and foreign fighters. Concurrently, militants attempted to infiltrate Pakistan through the Turkmenzai border area in the Mohmand district. It is believed that the group planned to carry out terrorist attacks within Pakistan.
Security sources said the Pakistan Army’s quick and coordinated action stopped the infiltration. The operation forced the Afghan Taliban to rely on Fitna al-Khawarij elements to continue their activities. A major militant formation that crossed the border was completely neutralised in Mohmand, where at least 30 militants were killed, sources confirmed.

The Taliban released a propaganda video claiming to have captured a T-55 tank from the Pakistan Army. Officials dismissed the claim, explaining that the Russian-made tank shown in the video actually belongs to the Afghan Taliban. Sources also confirmed that recent Pakistan Army operations in Kabul targeted the leadership of Fitna al-Hindustan, a network accused of coordinating cross-border attacks.
