The Pakistan Army captain and soldier martyred during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Hassan Khel, Peshawar, were laid to rest with full military honours in their native areas, stated the military’s media wing on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) noted that during the intense exchange of fire, Captain Hussain Jahangir Shaheed, aged 25, from Rahim Yar Khan district, and Soldier Shafiqullah Shaheed, aged 26, from Karak district, made the ultimate sacrifice.
Senior military officers, the martyrs’ families, and many residents attended the funeral prayers.
“Our sacrifices further strengthen our resolve,” stated military officials.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the security forces for their successful operation against terrorists in Peshawar, offering heartfelt condolences to their families.
PM Shehbaz paid tribute to the martyrs, saying, “We salute them for their bravery. The entire nation is proud of its brave forces.”
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) said, “There is nothing more noble than laying one’s life for the defense of the motherland. The sacrifices of our martyrs strengthen our resolve to fight with utmost dedication and spirit of sacrifice.”
The Pakistan Armed Forces remain resolute in their commitment to eliminate terrorism from the motherland at all costs.
