Pakistan has formally accepted the Russian request for using the Gwadar Port for exports.
Apart from using Gwadar Port, Russia has also requested to be part of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Earlier, Iran and Turkmenistan decided to use the Gwadar Port for trade to have an access to warm waters, .
Russia also wants to join the CPEC to reap the maximum dividends. In addition, Russia aspires to develop strategic defence ties with Pakistan. Islamabad has moved forward with a green signal allowing Russia to use the Gwadar Port for trade.
