The oil tankers association protested at Bilawal House in Karachi’s Clifton area against a colleague’s kidnapping.
SSP South Syed Asad Raza says Imran Afridi recently visited Karachi. The officer said Afridi was tricked into buying an excavator in Ghotki’s Ranwati Katchi area.
The “Shar gang” is suspected by police. The gang abducted people in Katcha.
“The kidnapper’s call data record showed that the caller was in the Ranwati area of Ghotki,” SSP Raza said, adding that SSP Ghotki has been contacted to facilitate Afridi’s early recovery.
The police officer said oil tankers protested in Kashmore and Khyber Agency for the abductee’s immediate release.
SSP Raza said kidnappers demanded ransom and transmitted videos to family.
Tankers blocked the Bilawal House roundabout for 2.5 hours. Protesters requested a colleague’s quick recovery and oil tanker security.
Sindh police dissuaded protestors from heading to the Karachi Press Club and promised to help rescue their colleague.
The oil tankers organization threatened “severe measures” if Afridi wasn’t found until Tuesday.
