Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the discovery of hydrocarbon deposits at its exploratory well, Jand No. 1.
In a filing with the stock exchange yesterday, the oil and gas exploration and production giant stated, “This is the 102nd discovery and a significant landmark achievement.” The well is located in the Attock district of Punjab province, in Dakhni M.L., with OGDCL serving as the 100% operator.
The company noted that the structure was delineated, drilled, and tested using OGDCL’s in-house expertise. “The well was drilled to a depth of 6,050 meters to assess the hydrocarbon potential of the Sakessar, Chorgali, Nammal, Patala, and Lockhart formations,” the company stated.
Hydrocarbons were indeed found at Jand No. 1. The Sakessar and Chorgali formations were tested jointly, resulting in the production of 10.60 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) of gas and 21 barrels per day (bpd) of condensate through a 32/64-inch choke at a wellhead flowing pressure of 1,780 PSI (pounds per square inch).
