PML-N’s Sanaullah Zehri has been nominated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as the next chief minister of Balochistan, National Party (NP) chief Mir Hasil Bizenjo earlier today  said his party is leaving the government in accordance with the Murree agreement. He assured the new CM of his full support.

The prime minister had nominated Zehri as the next CM last week. Under the Murree agreement, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch of National Party was to serve as CM Balochistan till December 4, 2015 and after this date the PML-N was to nominate its own chief minister for the province for the rest of two-and-a-half-year term.

Speaking at a press conference here today, Bizenjo said a new precedence was being set through abidance of the agreement in the country, which he added was his party’s moral responsibility. He said the NP was leaving the government today and assured nominated CM Zehri his full support.

Talking to media men on the occasion, outgoing chief minister Dr Baloch said he did whatever he could for the progress and development of the province, adding that he was leaving behind his performance only.

He said he would welcome the new chief minister and vowed to continue his role for strengthening democracy and political stability in Balochistan.
