Novak Djokovic is one win away from his 100th career title after crushing Grigor Dimitrov 6-2, 6-3 in the Miami Open semi-finals on Friday, March 28, 2025.
In Sunday’s final, 37-year-old Serbian player Novak Djokovic will face 19-year-old Czech star Jakub Mensik. Djokovic, now the oldest man to reach an ATP Masters 1000 final, outplayed Dimitrov in just 69 minutes, improving his head-to-head record to 13 wins and 1 loss.

Despite an early break against him, Djokovic quickly regained control. His serve shone with an 87% first-serve rate and five aces, while his all-around game overwhelmed the 33-year-old Bulgarian. “It was windy and tough to control the ball, but my serve held strong,” Djokovic said. “Hopefully, I can keep this up it makes my life easier.”
Mensik Stuns Fritz for Final Spot
In the other semi-final, Mensik upset world No. 4 Taylor Fritz 7-6 (7/4), 4-6, 7-6 (7/4). The big-serving teenager fired 25 aces in a baseline slugfest decided by two tie-breaks. Remarkably, Fritz’s serve went unbroken, yet he couldn’t capitalize. “I had to win one of those breakers,” Fritz lamented. Mensik’s relentless power secured his first Masters 1000 final appearance.

While eyeing a rare feat, Djokovic could join Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) as the only men with 100 titles. After winning his 99th at the Olympics, he’s hungry for the milestone. “Every tournament since has been about hitting 100. I’m going all in on Sunday,” he said. Dimitrov, winless in their last 10 meetings, praised Djokovic’s precision: “He does the basics better than anyone.”
