The National Logistics Corporation (NLC) has commenced the delivery of trade goods from China to the United Arab Emirates, traversing through Pakistan under the international road transport system.
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative offers a shorter, more efficient pathway for transporting goods from China to the Gulf Countries.
A notable event marked the beginning of this initiative: A truck loaded with electronic equipment set off from Kashgar, heading for Jebel Ali Port in Dubai via Pakistan. A commemorative ceremony at the NLC Dry Port in Sost celebrated this pivotal moment, initiating the journey.
The route involves NLC trucks transporting goods from Kashgar to Karachi, which will take just eight days. Subsequently, the container will ship from Karachi to Jebel Ali Port, adding two days at sea.

This new route from China to UAE through Pakistan substantially benefits the business community, enhancing trade links. Recently, NLC also launched a regular cargo service linking Islamabad and Karachi with Kashgar and Shanghai, aimed at bolstering bilateral trade and further activating the CPEC project.
The initiation of this service is a step towards implementing the Quadrilateral Transit Trade Agreement between China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan and the International Road Transport (TIR) Convention. These agreements will create definitive frameworks for regional trade development and promote regional economic progress.
NLC hosted a ceremony at the Silk Route Dry Port in Sost to commemorate the initiation of trucks heading towards China.
