Nintendo has announced impressive sales figures for its new console, the Nintendo Switch 2. In its latest financial report, the company confirmed the console has sold 10.36 million units as of September 30.
The platform launched on June 5 of this year. Alongside strong hardware sales, software sales for the Switch 2 have reached 20.62 million units. Two major first-party games are driving software sales.
- Mario Kart World, a launch title, has sold 9.57 million units. This figure includes consoles sold in a bundle with the game.
 - Donkey Kong Bananza has also performed well, selling 3.49 million units.

Due to this strong performance, Nintendo has increased its sales forecast for the current fiscal year, which ends in March 2026.

This optimism is reflected in the company’s financials. Nintendo’s platform business sales have increased by 119.7% year-over-year, largely due to the launch of the Switch 2. To meet this increased demand, Nintendo has reportedly asked its suppliers to ramp up production. The goal is to manufacture as many as 25 million Switch 2 units by the end of the fiscal year.
As the new console thrives, Nintendo has slightly lowered the sales forecast for the original Nintendo Switch to 4 million units for the year.
