Multiple sources report that a shooting at the Cabana Live nightclub during a private party in Sanford, Florida, resulted in ten injuries, including one to Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell. Fortunately, none of the injuries were life-threatening.
According to the County Sheriff’s Office statement, the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that escalated quickly. The deputies were already en route to the club due to reports of a large crowd when they heard gunshots from behind the venue, leading to immediate crowd dispersal.
The Houston Texans confirmed that Tank Dell was among the injured. He was promptly treated at a hospital and has since been released, sustaining only minor injuries.
The Texans expressed relief at Dell’s recovery, stating, “We have been made aware that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford, Fla. last night. He sustained a minor wound but has been released from the hospital, and he is in good spirits. We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate, but we ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”
Tank Dell, drafted in the third round, 69th overall, in the 2023 NFL draft, had a notable rookie season cut short by a fractured fibula against the Denver Broncos in Week 13. He underwent surgery to repair the injury the following day. Before his injury, Dell had recorded 47 catches for 709 yards and seven touchdowns.
