A newly-wed bride fled after providing her in-laws poisoned milk, leaving five people in critical condition in the city of Khanewal.
According to rescue officials, the incident took place at Khanewal’s suburban area 83-10 R. The affected persons, which included five individuals, among whom three were women, were shifted to DHQ hospital for treatment.
One of the affected individuals, an old woman who was half conscious, revealed that the newly wed bride had offered their family milk soda after which they had all fallen ill.
Local residents disclosed that Arshad, who belonged to the victims’ family, had married a woman named Ghazala a few days before Ramazan.
After the incident, the bride was nowhere to be found and some valuables from the house were missing as well.
