Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Disbands Six-Member War Cabinet
In Jerusalem, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has officially dissolved the six-member war cabinet, a move confirmed by an Israeli official on Monday.
The dissolution was largely anticipated, especially after the exit of Benny Gantz, the centrist former general, from the government.
Netanyahu faced increasing pressure from his nationalist-religious coalition partners, Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who had been pushing for inclusion in the war cabinet. Granting them seats, however, risked heightening tensions with key international allies, including the United States.
