Pakistan’s biggest stars, Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan, have announced that their film “Neelofar” will be released in theatres this winter, in 2025.
The news was shared through a joint Instagram post on September 24, 2025, with the caption, “Agli Mulaqat ka intezar rahay ga. Neelofar, this winter.” Filming was completed in December 2020 but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Covid halted Neelofar’s final 10 days of shooting in 2020. Mahira shared in April that year, “We don’t even know when it’ll be finished.” Despite setbacks, she posted set snippets, saying, “I take with me a piece of you… My darling Neelofar, I shall miss you.” The post is no longer on her Instagram.
For love.. and especially for those who have never given up on it.. #Neelofar 🪷

Mahira praised the team’s hard work. “Everyone put their heart and soul into it,” she wrote. Fawad, in June 2024, said the film was nearly complete. Their passion has kept fans eager for this release.
Mahira and Fawad, known for their roles in Humsafar, are a beloved duo. Neelofar promises their signature chemistry. The lack of plot details adds mystery, fueling anticipation for this romantic drama.
“Neelofar represents a significant milestone for Pakistani cinema, reviving a project that was stalled due to global events. Its release this winter has the potential to boost the industry by attracting audiences with its star power. The film reunites Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan on the big screen for the first time in years, and fans are eagerly anticipating its arrival in winter 2025.”
