NBA YoungBoy, born Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, is set to be released from house arrest earlier than anticipated, with a new release date of April 26, 2025.
The rapper, who has faced significant legal challenges in recent years, was initially expected to remain incarcerated until July 2025.
The news comes after months of legal proceedings stemming from his 2023 arrest on 63 charges tied to a prescription drug fraud scheme. The charges included identity theft, forgery, and possession of controlled substances. At the time of his arrest, YoungBoy was already under house arrest at his Utah home, “Grave Digger Mountain,” awaiting trial in an unrelated case.

In November 2024, YoungBoy reached a plea deal, pleading guilty to 10 charges and submitting a no-contest plea for the remaining charges. He was sentenced to 23 months in prison and 60 months of probation. However, recent updates from music news outlet Kurrco confirm that his release has been moved to April 26, 2025.

The early release aligns with speculation from DJ Akademiks, who hinted during Adin Ross’ Brand Risk 005 boxing event that YoungBoy’s return could happen sooner than expected. While the reasons for the adjusted timeline remain undisclosed, fans have already expressed excitement about his impending release.
