NATO confirms five Afghan soldiers killed accidentally

The NATO coalition confirmed that five Afghan soldiers were killed accidently in eastern Afghanistan today, in an incident that the government officials said was a mistaken US drone strike on a local army base.

“We can confirm that at least five Afghan National Army personnel were accidentally killed this morning during an operation in eastern Afghanistan,” NATO force spokeswoman Major Cathleen Snow said in a statement.
