NASA says the biggest moon in the Earth’s solar system may be capable of supporting life.
A cross-section of Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons, revealed layers making up the moon’s surface contain a mix of ice and water that has scientists buzzing.
Specifically an inner-most layer, which is believed to contain salt water, may produce chemical reactions that could generate life.
It would take roughly 21 months to get there on the space shuttle, but don’t pack your bags just yet–the average temperature is -262 degrees Fahrenheit.
