The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) of Pakistan has launched the Pak ID mobile app, revolutionizing how citizens obtain essential identity documents.
This app lets people apply for their Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and Family Registration Certificate (FRC) online, bypassing long queues at NADRA centres.
Features and Services of the Pak ID App
The app simplifies various steps in the documentation process. Users can easily upload photos, verify fingerprints, and make payments online.
According to a NADRA spokesperson, the app facilitates not only the issuance of CNICs and FRCs but also caters to overseas Pakistanis seeking CNICs. In addition, in December 2023, NADRA announced an updated fee structure for the renewal of smart ID cards, which feature an embedded chip for enhanced security and biometric verification.
