NAB decides to probe Firdous Awan, Azam Hoti, others

Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Monday decided to start investigation against Firdous Ashiq Awan, Azam Khan Hoti, Qasim Zia and Muahmmad Ishaq.

According to details, NAB’s Executive Board meeting presided by chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry decided to start corruption investigations against former federal minster Firdous Ashiq Awan, ANP senator Azam Khan Hoti, former Hockey Board chairman Qasim Zia and former MNA Muhammmad Ishaq.

The charge against Awan is of illegal appointments and deployment of twelve buses for private use.

The inquiry against former Federal Communications Minister and Senator Azam Khan Hoti along with his wife Humera Kash Azam and others will be initiated for illegal banking transactions and corruption of Rs128 million.

MNA Rana Muhammad Ishaq and others will be probed for allegedly embezzling and misappropriating Rs500 million from Tehsil Pattoki council funds.

The board also authorised an inquiry against a former MPA Qasim Zia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Director Ali Usman, Director Khalid Anwar and Director Rana Zahid of Stock Brokerage Pvt Ltd. They have been accused of allegedly cheating the public at large and misappropriation of Rs107.7 million received from general public in the name of stocks.
