State Minister for Education and Interior Balighur Rehman Monday said the government was taking ‘various’ steps to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country.
Winding up a debate in National Assembly on terrorist attack at the Army Public School Peshawar, he said efforts were underway to send back Afghan refugees in their native country in collaboration with SAFRON ministry.
A helpline 1717 has already been activated for prompt information about terrorists.
He lauded the role of chief of army staff General Raheel Sharif in combating terrorism.
He said law and order was the responsibility of the provincial government and they were informed about the looming terrorist threats prior to the unfortunate carnage of students of APS.
The government gave Rs 400,000 to the heirs of the martyred students, teachers and Rs 200,000 to injured of Peshawar incident.
