Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is all set to hold rally at Sharah-e-Pakistan today.
Last night, top PTI leaders including Asad Umar, Imran Ismail and Ali Zaidi visited the rally venue along with workers to finalised the preparations.
The central leaders discussed and passed necessary directives for arrangements of the rally and its stage.
When PTI top brass were finalising the arrangements a motorbike rally of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) supporters drove nearby at Ayesha Manzil and a clash-like situation cropped up with frenzied slogans from enthusiasts of the two sides.
Police personnel intercepted and averted a near-flashpoint situation.
According to the police sources, at least 2,753 policemen including eight SPs, 16 DSPs, 40 SHOs, eight additional SHOs and 360 rapid response force personnel would be deployed at the venue.
Six teams of bomb disposal squad will scan the rally venue.
