Karachi: Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar assumed charge as Additional Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Karachi on Sunday the second day of Eid.

After assuming charge Mahar arrived at the headquarters and reviewed the Eid security plan and discussed security issues with his officers.

Mahar has been appointed as the AIGP Karachi after his predecessor Ghullam Qadir Thebo was appointed as Chairman Anti-Corruption on Friday.

Other appointments and transfers in the Sindh provincial administration include, Manzoor Qadir being removed as DG Sindh Building Control Authority and Saqib Soomro being removed as the Administrator Karachi.

Secretary Corporation Sindh, Shadar Shamoon has also been removed. Ten deputy commissioners including those from Dadu, Jamshooro, Shikarpur, Sanghar and Mir Pur Khas were also removed.

Administrator Hyderabad Khalid Sheikh has removed from his post and appointed Deputy Manager WASA.

The removals from the Sindh bureaucracy come in the wake of PPP leaders meeting in Dubai on Thursday and directing provincial ministers to crack down on corruption.

According to sources the Sindh government is taking action against those individuals who are being investigated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
