Islamabad: Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has accorded approval for construction of Munda Dam on River Swat.
France has agreed to provide financial assistance for the project, state media reported.
The Federal government is in touch with France in this regard. Munda Dam has the capacity to generate 740 megawatts of electricity, besides irrigating over 15,000 acres of land in Mohmand Agency and Charsadda district. The dam will also help control floods.
