An inventive auto-rickshaw driver in Mumbai has transformed his three-wheeler into a dynamic karaoke stage, captivating social media with his renditions of Bollywood classics.
Featured in a trending Instagram video, the driver sings “Phir Wahi Raat Hai” from the 1979 movie “Ghar” while driving through the streets of Mumbai. This distinctive vehicle, decorated with signs such as “Karaoke Autorickshaw,” “Please like, comment, and share,” and “Google Search,” was seen in the Juhu neighbourhood around 11 PM on a recent Saturday night.
The driver’s blend of creativity and musical passion quickly resonated with viewers, turning him into a social media sensation. Comments poured in, praising his vibrant spirit. One user admired his dedication to his passion alongside his daily responsibilities, noting, “Living his passion and driving a rickshaw because passion doesn’t pay bills, more power to him.” Another remarked on the sheer joy his performance brings, “Even if you have a Ferrari, you can’t get this level of happiness.”
The notion that happiness transcends material wealth was a recurring theme among the responses.
This Mumbai rickshaw is part of a growing trend where drivers customize their vehicles to offer unique experiences. Recently, a Pune rickshaw equipped with speakers, colourful LED lights, and an onboard aquarium went viral, and a Bengaluru rickshaw featured a mini library, offering passengers books to read during their ride.
