The Khaleej time has reported that Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani wants to acquire the English football club Liverpool FC.
Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries and with a £90billion net worth,, is the eighth richest person in the world, willing to enter the bid after it was put up for sale.
It believed that he will have to fight off other parties from the Middle East and the USA, with Liverpool’s current owners,, Fenway Sports Group, having been swamped with tentative offers.
It is also stated that other parties are willing to sell for £4bn, and there is a greater desire to buy the Merseyside club outright. Fenway Sports Group (FSG) purchased the club’s membership in October 2010 and is now preparing to sell it for £4 billion.
Ambani also owns the Indian Premier League team Mumbai Indians and runs a football league called Indian Super League along with the All India Football Federation.
