Cricket icon MS Dhoni has stepped into the podcast world, unveiling jaw-dropping insights about his legendary career on Sunday.
The former captain of India, who retired from international cricket in August 2020, joined host Raj Shamani for an exclusive episode on the Dhoni app. Now in his 18th IPL season with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an uncapped player retained for ₹4 crore under a new rule, Dhoni’s debut episode has the internet buzzing.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the only captain to have won three ICC titles: the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the Champions Trophy in 2013. He surprised fans with his humility when asked to name his top players. He skillfully sidestepped the question, saying, “When Yuvraj Singh hit six sixes in an over, who else did I need to see? Cricket is unpredictable; why pick just one player?”

Reflecting on his beginnings in Ranchi, Dhoni admitted, “I never thought I would play for India. My family had no cricketing history; we only played tennis ball cricket in school.” He started as a skinny bowler but accidentally found his way into wicketkeeping, crediting senior players for helping him develop his skills. He added, “I feared my punctual father, which kept me disciplined.”
