Karachi: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Monday disowns Sindh governor Dr. Ishratul Ebad Khan and demanded the resignation.
The MQM leader Farooq Sattar, addressing a press conference at MQM headquarter, demanded the governor to tender his resignation and return to the party.
He said that Altaf Hussain proposed Ebad for the office of governor after the party joined a coalition government in 2002.
“Until today the monitoring committee has not been formed,” he said. “Unfortunately, while the high-ups did not cooperate, even Dr Ishratul Ebad completely failed in this task.
The MQM leader said initially Sindh governor played an important role for the well-being of the people of the province.
The killings of MQM supporters and workers began after Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) formed government in 2008, he said, adding that the Sindh governor failed to stop the killings.
Sattar said the MQM extended unconditional support to the targeted operation launched against criminal elements in Karachi.
“Those who slaughtered our children have been roaming around freely inside and outside the country, the MQM leader added.
According to party sources, Ebad has no authority and power, which is why the party this it’s best for him to resign
