Following the resignation of Zaka Ashraf, the previous Chairman of the PCB Management Committee. Ashraf’s departure was officially announced on January 19, 2024. His tenure, which began on July 6, was marked by his commitment to cricket’s betterment, but challenges led to his resignation.

With Mohsin Naqvi’s potential appointment, the cricket community awaits formal approval from PCB Patron-in-Chief and Pakistan Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar. Naqvi will take Ashraf’s place on the Board of Governors as the PCB Chairman if confirmed.
Naqvi, who has spent the past year as Punjab’s caretaker chief minister, has already voiced his dedication to overcoming the obstacles in Pakistan’s cricket.
