Obaid Sarfaraz, a university student, who had been missing for the last two days, was found buried at a farmhouse on Tuesday, according to the police.
He was reported missing after he went to visit his friend at a farmhouse near Tarnol on Sunday.
The police used mobile phone tracking to trace the whereabouts of the last caller on the victim’s phone. It was also established that the victim did indeed go to the farm house even though the “friend’s family had denied that Obaid had visited the Farm house. .
During interrogation, the friend of the victim confessed that Obaid was killed by an accidental fire by his gunman on his farmhouse.
Later, he, with the assistance of two other people, dug a grave at the farmhouse and buried the victim.
The body was exhumed by the police and shifted to the hospital for legal process.
The guard and another accomplice were arrested, and the murder weapon was confiscated, the police said, adding that the gun was owned by the guard.
Preliminary investigation also found a connection between the victim and the sister of the alleged killer, through mobile and Facebook data, the police said, adding that they were both studying in the same university.
The police suspect that an argument between the victim and his friend might have occurred over Obaid’s connection with the alleged killer’s sister, resulting in the murder.
However no conclusion has yet been reached.
