Although unexpected, Angel Reese’s connection with Megan Thee Stallion showcases a unique friendship between the Chicago Sky basketball player and the renowned rapper. They were recently seen together at Megan’s Lollapalooza performance in Illinois, highlighting their close bond.
Reese, the seventh pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, took a brief break from training to surprise Megan on stage during her headline show on Thursday, August 1. Reese sprinted onto the stage, capturing the moment, leaving Megan shocked and delighted. The pair embraced and smiled for Reese’s cellphone camera before Megan continued with her performance.
The excitement didn’t end there for Reese. Mimicking Travis Kelce’s appearance at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, she joined in the dancing during the performance of “Where Them Girls At.”
At just 29, Megan Thee Stallion has achieved significant success in the music industry, securing 52 awards, including six BET Awards, four American Music Awards, and three Grammy Awards. She is well-known for hits like “WAP,” “Savage,” and “Mamushi.”
Reese, on the other hand, is making her mark in the WNBA. A promising prospect for Chicago Sky, she is a contender for the WNBA’s Rookie of the Year award, having recently graduated as a Women’s National Division I champion with the LSU Tigers. Reese has been impressive in her debut season, which included an appearance at the 2024 WNBA All-Star game, averaging 13.5 points, 12 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.
Reese will return to action against the Phoenix Mercury on Friday, August 16, at the Wintrust Arena in Illinois.
