Actress Megan Fox isn’t immune to mental health challenges. So it’s somewhat surprising to learn that Fox, often hailed as one of the most attractive individuals of our time, battles with body dysmorphia.
In this revealing interview, she shared this intimate detail during an interview as part of the 2023 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, where she graced the cover. She discussed her lifelong struggle with body image. The cover image features Fox clad in a striking gold swimsuit, chosen by Sports Illustrated for this year’s edition.
Fox shared with Sports Illustrated: “I suffer from body dysmorphia – my self-perception doesn’t align with how others view me. I’ve never experienced a time when I was comfortable with my body. Even as a child, I was fixated on how I should look. Why I had this heightened body awareness at such a young age is unclear, especially considering my upbringing in a deeply religious environment where bodies were barely acknowledged. The journey toward self-love, I believe, is a never-ending one.
Posing for a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit undoubtedly adds pressure. However, I have an image I’m striving to embody in my mind, so let’s see how that goes. I want people to recognize that I’m genuine, seeking a sense of belonging and not always being perceived as a misunderstood outsider.”
On the personal front, Megan Fox remains engaged to Machine Gun Kelly, notwithstanding recent relationship turbulence.
The high-profile couple announced their engagement in 2022 but have experienced significant disagreements. Despite these challenges, they are committed to resolving their differences for the sake of their relationship. Regarding public knowledge, Fox and Machine Gun Kelly are still planning their wedding, asking for time and privacy to sort things out. If their relationship takes another turn, the news will likely reach us swiftly via their representatives. For now, however, the couple remains committed to their engagement.
