Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) chief Mudassar Rizvi said that only those with power and authority could rig elections; the media couldn’t.

Briefing the journalists about election reforms at the Karachi Press Club, FAFEN chief Syed Mudassar Rizvi and FAFEN member Sarwar Bari urged the political parties to immediately start debating the issue in a bid to give collective shape to the scattered electoral laws and facilitate the holding of transparent elections.

He said that all the members of the Election Commission should be appointed for one year and that, in addition to including two females, the tribal areas and Islamabad should also be given representation in the Commission.

Responding to a question about the allegation that a media house rigged elections, Syed Mudassar Rizvi said that only those who have the power and authority could rig elections; a media house couldn’t do it.
