PTI Chief Imran Khan admitted having an offshore company to buy a flat in London and evade taxes in UK in 1983.
IK speaking to reporters at London Heathrow Airport, Imran said that he had established the company to bought his flat from the money he earned while playing County Cricket.
“I used to pay 35 percent tax on my income while playing County cricket. This can be confirmed through Yorkshire and Sussex. I bought a flat from that money” IK said
“As I was not a British citizen, an offshore flat was bought. When I sold that flat in 2003, I did not have to pay the taxes in UK. There is nothing illegal in it and then I took the money back to Pakistan,” IK added
In response, Maryam Nawaz Sharif in a message on Twitter said, “The ‘PIONEER’ of offshore companies ….. The TRAILBLAZER award goes to Mr. Khan,”
