The Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, recently inaugurated an IT lab at the APS Girls School in Model Town, Lahore.
During her visit, she unveiled a new computer lab equipped with satellite internet services and interacted with the students present.
However, it has come to light that the computers showcased during the inauguration were temporarily borrowed from another institution. Reports indicate that ten computers were temporarily relocated from the Government Junior Model School in Model Town to facilitate the event. These computers were meant to demonstrate the new facilities but were not a permanent lab fixture.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, who accompanied the Chief Minister, provided insights into the ongoing and future educational projects during the visit. Despite attendees’ positive reception of the new IT lab, the borrowing of the computers has raised concerns.
The Government Junior Model School has noted that the absence of these computers has disrupted their ongoing computer classes, as the equipment has not yet been returned. This situation has sparked a discussion about the preparation and execution of such inaugural events.
