Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif launched the Maryam Ko Bataain Ramadan aid programme to provide immediate financial assistance during Ramadan 2026. The initiative aims to support deserving families facing financial hardship in the holy month.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, the chief minister announced that the programme will officially begin on the first day of Ramadan. Eligible individuals can receive up to Rs. 10,000 in financial aid within 24 hours.
A dedicated helpline, 1000, will go live on the first day of Ramadan. Applicants can call the helpline to request assistance.
Maryam Ko Bataain Ramadan Aid: How to Apply
Under the scheme, individuals in need can apply through multiple channels. They may call the helpline 1000 or submit their application through the official web portal or mobile app by entering their CNIC number.
According to the chief minister, those already registered under the Pakistan Social and Economic Relief (PSER) system will receive financial support within 24 hours. Unregistered applicants will undergo a verification process that may take up to four days.
The programme is designed to provide quick relief during Ramadan, a month observed for fasting, reflection, and charity. The exact start date of Ramadan 2026 will depend on the sighting of the moon. If Shaban completes 29 days, Ramadan will begin on February 19, 2026. If Shaban lasts 30 days, Ramadan will start on February 20, 2026.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will make the final announcement regarding the official beginning of Ramadan.
The Punjab government has positioned the Maryam Ko Bataain Ramadan aid programme as part of broader welfare efforts to support low-income households.
