Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) retail chains and franchise federation, one of the leading groups of companies in Malaysia, has shown a high level of interest in setting up a state-of-the-art amusement park in the Lahore during a meeting at Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) earlier yesterday.

Delegation members informed the PBIT team that for this project 300 acres of land would be needed at a place that is easily accessible, ideally near the motorway.

The delegation asked about  any concessions on land, tax exemptions on the import of old as well as new machinery and other tax reliefs they could avail.

The group also expressed its interest in obtaining a licence from the government to train manpower in Punjab.

PBIT CEO Amena Cheema, said that Chief Minister Punjab was very keen to receive investment directed at enhancing Punjab tourism potential. She proposed that the group should share their plan and direct queries towards PBIT so that the way forward could be suggested accordingly.

PBIT team assured the delegation members of complete facilitation regarding the feasibility of the project that also includes retail outlets linked with the amusement park.
