Pakistan’s preparations for their three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka received a blow on Wednesday as they lost their one-off practice match against Sri Lanka Board XI (SLBXI) by 13 runs on the Duckworth/Lewis (D/L) method.
Batting first at the Moratuwa’s Tyronne Fernando Stadium, the Lankans amassed 325 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs.
Mohammad Hafeez was the pick of the bowlers, claiming four wickets in his ten overs. He was also the top scorer for Pakistan with 54 runs when the match was stopped due to bad light in the 47th over of the innings. The tourists were 13 runs short of the par D/L score at that juncture.
