Lahore: Hearing of the case to register a treason lawsuit against Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain was conducted on Friday in Lahore High Court (LHC).

According to details, the hearing was headed by Justice Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi in which petitioner’s lawyer Aftab Virk adopted the stance that the MQM chief has made speeches against the Pakistan Army and the country but no action has yet been taken by the interior, foreign and information ministry however, the move comes in the category of treachery therefore it is requested that a treason case should be registered.

The judge remarked that the case is sensitive nature so that it would be heard by a larger bench and sent the case file to Chief Justice Manzoor Malik for the formation of a larger bench. Moreover, notices have also been issued to the interior and foreign ministry and the principal secretary of prime minister.
