The Lahore High Court issued a formal notice to the Punjab government during the proceedings of a case pertaining to the expected rise in prices of commodities during the month of Ramazan.
According to details, the Lahore High Court issued a notice to the government for May 21 in response to a petition filed against the expected rise in commodities in the month of Ramazan.
The petitioner had stated that it was expected that prices of food items would be increased in the month of Ramazan. The petitioner had also requested the court to ensure that the government controlled prices during Ramazan.
Government should inform as to what measures it has taken to control prices during the month of Ramazan, remarked the court.
The holy month of Ramazan is expected to commence in Pakistan from Tuesday. Muslims from all over the country fast during the month of Ramazan. During the past, prices of food items and commodities have increased in the month of Ramazan, creating difficulty for citizens.
