The Lahore High Court (LHC) has admitted for hearing a petition filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the light of Panama Papers leaks.
PTI leader Gauhar Nawaz Sindhu has taken the plea that Panama papers disclosures have proved that PM Nawaz and his family members have indulged in money laundering.
The petitioner said that he had filed a reference with the National Assembly speaker seeking disqualification of the prime minister but the speaker dismissed the reference.
He prayed the court to disqualify the prime minister for his alleged involvement in money laundering.
LHC judge Shahid Wahid adjourned hearing of the case till May 23.
