A soldier of Balochistan Levies providing security to a polio team in Killi Karbala, Pishin was shot dead on Monday.
Levies official Mehmood had just finished his duty when he was attacked by unidentified assailants near the Bypass area of Killi Karbala.
Mehmood was providing security cover to anti-polio campaigners. However, after the campaign ended in the area, he returned to another assignment.
“He was not targeted because of the polio campaign. He was the second official of Balochistan levies to be targeted in two days,” Pishin Deputy Commissioner Basheer Bazai told.
The attackers took away his official weapon after shooting him.
