LeBron James has broken his silence regarding his plans with the Lakers and the NBA following the Lakers’ first-round playoff elimination.
The NBA superstar addressed the rumours on social media about his career intentions. LeBron, who has completed his 21st NBA season, shared his thoughts via a post on X.
In his post, LeBron stated, “I’ve seen, heard a lot of reports about my future. I said it last night and I’ll say it again. I do not know yet as I’m only thinking about spending time with my family & friends! When I know after speaking with the fam, my counsel as well as my representation about it then you guys will know. Until then . Love,” accompanied by a crown emoji.
Speculation about LeBron’s return to the Lakers is rampant. A return next season would equal his seven-season tenure with the Cleveland Cavaliers from 2003 to 2010.
LeBron joined the Lakers in 2018 after his second stint with Cleveland. His decision remains a focal point of the offseason, heavily influenced by the player option in his contract.
The Lakers’ playoff run ended Monday with a defeat to the Denver Nuggets in five games. Following the 108-106 loss, LeBron initially dodged questions about whether it was his last game as a Laker.
