The security forces have foiled a major terrorist activity planned for Quetta on Saturday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, on an intelligence-based operation (IBO) the Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) conducted an operation in Chaman along Pak-Afghan border and recovered 80 kgs explosive laden prepared vehicle on crossing border planned to be used for terrorist activity in Quetta.
Initial interrogation revealed that vehicle was prepared as improvised explosive device (IED) at Kandahar. The forces also arrested two terrorists.
The information was revealed by two terrorists who were arrested in the IBO during interrogation, it added.
The IBO was conducted based on intelligence reports that a vehicle rigged with explosives was coming to Pakistan from Afghanistan for a terrorist activity.
