The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police have apprehended Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and ex-federal minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur at the High Court Dera Ismail Khan.

Reports indicate that District Police Officer (DPO) Rauf Qaisarani arrested Gandapur at the court. A substantial police force, an armored vehicle, and a prisoner transport van had already accompanied him.

According to leaked audio played by the Geo TV’s anchorperson Hamid Mir during his show, Gandapur threatened to lay siege to Islamabad if the former prime minister was apprehended. However, the date of the audio can’t be verified.

Gandapur was apprehended by police at the Dera Ismail Khan division of the Peshawar High Court after he refused to surrender. (PHC).

In a conversation with reporters outside the courtroom, Gandapur stated, “I know nothing about FIRs. They claim that FIRs have been filed against me and that my detention is required.”

The former federal minister added that multiple cases had been filed against him and that he lacked confidence in the authorities.
