Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Govt and Opposition benches held a closed-door meeting on Monday and discussed prevailing security situation in the province. In the parliamentary meeting senior officials including Inspector General of Police Nasir Durrani and home and tribal affairs secretary Akhtar Ali Shah briefed them about the law and order situation. They were also told that approximately 39 militant wings are operating in KPK, while 20 groups are functioning in the name of TTP which are involved in extortion, kidnapping for ransom and other criminal activities.
The provincial Govt of KPP has serious reservations that the federal government have not taken the provincial government into confidence about peace talks with the (TTP) Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan or any other militant wing.
