Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur announced a 55% increase in provincial revenue, reaching a surplus of Rs176 billion, earmarked for investment in the populace, particularly the youth.
On Friday, Chief Minister Gandapur inaugurated the Inter-College Sports Gala 2025, an event spearheaded by the Higher Education Department. The opening ceremony occurred in Peshawar, with Gandapur as the chief guest. Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, key figures from the education sector, teachers, students, and athletes participated significantly.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister unveiled the trophy, signalling the official start of the Sports Gala. This was followed by a march past involving teams of athletes and a spectacular fireworks display.
This year’s Sports Gala brings together 2,000 students from 320 colleges across eight zones of the province. Participants will compete in 13 different sports, including cricket, football, hockey, basketball, volleyball, throwball, handball, table tennis, badminton, squash, kabaddi, and netball. The events will be hosted in sports complexes across three districts—Peshawar, Charsadda, and Nowshera.

These games follow zonal-level inter-collegiate competitions, with winning teams advancing to this broader platform.
In his address, Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted efforts to boost sports in the region, aligning with the vision of PTI’s founding chairman. He expressed pride in realizing a long-held vision for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, marking the first time the province has organized an Inter-College Sports Gala, now set to be an annual event.
Gandapur encouraged students to excel in academics and sports, aiming to bring honour to the province and the nation.
